Nevada City is a city located in the Nevada County of the state of California. It was incorporated in to the US in 1856 and since then has become an integral part of the state. It was settled in 1849 when Gold was first discovered in California. The city found its first Gold mine in the North side of Deer Creek in 1850; soon the first saw mill of the city was built. The first newspaper that circulated through the city was the Nevada Journal. During the early years of the settlement the city was confused with the bordering Nevada state so to remove this confusion, the word city was added permanently to the name.
